Researchers at Malaspina University-College and the University of Victoria are studying how the family, personal and educational backgrounds of university students influences how they choose a post-secondary discipline.
We’d like to learn about your experiences, and by completing this measure you will aid us in our efforts to understand more about what motivates students in their educational and career paths. This survey consists of 70 multiple choice questions and should
take no more than 15 to 20 minutes. All results will remain confidential; however, once a survey has been submitted it will be logistically impossible to remove individual participant data. Thus, hitting the start survey button, free and informed consent to
participate is implied. At the end you will find a comment block where we welcome any feedback you can provide to aid us in making this a more sensitive and useful tool.
Funding for this survey is being provided by a National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) grant to the University of Victoria and Malaspina University-College under Pacific-CRYSTAL. It is anticipated that the results of this survey
will be used for scholarly presentations in the spring of 2009. Interested parties may contact the principle investigators: Rachel: cooper@mala.ca, 250-753-3245 ext. 2137, and/or Steve: earles@mala.ca, 250-753-3245 ext. 2756 and should you need further information
