The Wasatch Front Regional Council is conducting a community survey in order to gain public input for (Re)Connect: The Wasatch Front Green Infrastructure Plan.
Green Infrastructure is an interconnected network of natural systems that provide a diverse range of environmental, social, recreational, psychological, public health and economic benefits. The natural systems that make up green infrastructure include forest preserves, historic sites, agricultural lands, watersheds, wetlands, open space, parks and nature preserves. A connected system allows for greater vitality, value and function of the ecological networks and natural benefits. It can also help sustain clean air and water, promote the economy and contribute to the health and quality of life of it's residents.
(Re)Connect will identify valuable natural systems and strengthen those through improved development patterns. The Plan will recommend which lands can accomodate growth and which lands are better suited to protect, preserve or conserve.
Please forward this survey to other interested persons. The survey should not take more than 10 minutes.
This is a collaborative process between the Wasatch Front Regional Council, Forestry Fire and State Lands, Utah's Governor's Office of Planning and Budget, U.S. Forest Service and the Center for Green Space Design. For more information please visit:
