Dear Respondent:
Thank you for taking the time to read this email about a research project that is being conducted at the University of Connecticut. This research is being performed to understand the preferences of people who purchase and interact with children’s books. Our research is intended to assess the potential value of adding multimedia content to traditional children’s books, and how this may enrich a child’s experience with a book.
You have been selected for this survey because we understand that you are a parent or grandparent of a child that is between the ages of 3 and 12 or an educator who interacts with a child within that age range. The survey asks questions about children under the age of eight, however your opinion as a parent of a child up to twelve is valuable nevertheless. If this has reached you in error, please do not continue on to the survey.
This five-page survey should take less than 8 minutes to complete. As with all academic research, your responses are confidential and will only be used in the aggregate. As a potential reward for your participation in this survey, you can choose to enter a drawing to win one of four $25 iTunes gift cards. Upon conclusion of this research, winners will be drawn at random and notified by e-mail (you will need to provide us with your email address to be eligible so we can contact winners, but we will not contact you for any other purpose).
If you are interested in obtaining a copy of our research results, there is an optional question in the survey where you can supply your email.
Should you have any questions or concerns about our research and this process, you may contact Professor Luke Weinstein at luke.weinstein@business.uconn.edu or (860) 728-2170.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
Sincerely,
Corey Fitzgerald, Jennie Herreid, Chris McAuley, Justin Rattner
