At the District 3 November 9th BAC meeting we will focus on “recruitment and retention of effective teachers in high poverty schools & incentives to attract more minority and male teachers.” Nationally, two main approaches have been used: salary incentives and mentoring programs. We are seeking your opinion on the use of salary incentives in the form of merit-based pay for teachers in Wake County. A merit-based pay program would mean teachers would receive financial compensation based on success in pre-designated areas of their job.
