 February 16 & 17, 2010

Phoenix, Arizona

Questions marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

We welcome you to the 2010 Leadership for Excellence and Equity Forum, the next generation of the NCCRESt Forums you enjoyed in Denver, CO and Washington, DC. Educators, policy makers, students, parents, advocacy groups, and community members will gather to share current research and best practices related to building and strengthening systems of educational equity. This equity forum will provide the opportunity for several potential areas of focus, including civil and educational rights, disproportionality in special education, school-family partnerships, organizing schools for inclusive education, and more.

Session proposals that cover the range of expertise from presentations of research to presentations of promising practices are welcome.  Proposals can be for presentation/discussions, workshops, panels, and roundtables. Sessions should be of interest to a wide range of educators, students and families, policy makers, and researchers.  We anticipate that about one third of the sessions will focus on current research, while two thirds will highlight best practices.

Note: The Equity Alliance at ASU, continuing the work of  the National Center for Culturally Responsive Educational Systems, and the National Institute for Urban School Improvement, supports the capacity of state and local school systems to provide high-quality, effective opportunities to learn for all students, and to reduce disparities in academic achievement.

General Information:  Each presenter of each session must be listed on this form, and each is expected to pay registration. Presenters are also expected to print their own session handouts, and will be given the total needed in the confirmation. We will be accepting for review ONLY those proposals submitted electronically by October, 2009 by 5:00 pm MST. Preference will be given for presentations that are accessible to all audience members, including those with dis/abilities or linguistic differences.
