Segment Surveys with URL Parameters

Capture pre-collected information about your respondents without asking for it!

Zoomerang Premium subscribers can now pass respondent data through the survey URL to capture pre-collected information about respondents without having to use a survey question to find out. Create a single survey, deploy it via URL across multiple channels, then instantly have the insight into where each response came from. Use a unique code or keyword for each audience surveyed, then see how responses from audiences compare with each other, or compare against a control group. Each parameter will display in your results as a hidden question and the unique values you enter for each parameter will display as the responses to that hidden question.

For example, you want to post your survey on Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter then link your survey response data with each social site. Once you define the parameter and launch the survey, you can include the name of each site in the link you post in each location to help you identify and create reports based on where the respondent accessed your survey.

5 ways to use URL parameters with your online surveys

  • Post a customer satisfaction survey to your website, blog and Twitter and use a URL value to segment the deployments
  • Send an employee satisfaction questionnaire via email and segment the list be region or department
  • Segment your audience using a hidden demographic question like gender
  • Reuse an event survey by making the event title a hidden variable
  • Email a product satisfaction survey and pass the sales region as a URL parameter
