Default Categorizing Data Before Analysis

Is there any way to categorize data (e.g., insert a Region code based on the County) before analyzing data (e.g., doing a crosstab of results by region)?

Hi Joehaenn,

You have a couple options:

You can create separate cross tab reports with all of the countries in each region in the columns and the rest of the questions in the rows and then compare the totals for each region that way.

You can also filter your results by region and then create separate cross tab reports to include just the data you're looking for from each set of filtered responses.

Either way, you may want to export each set of cross tab reports to compare in Excel.

Another option if you really need the region codes to display in your results is to assign each set of countries in a region to a Quota Group so that the name of each region (Group Name) displays next to each Country when you view and filter your results. Please note, though, that you can assign up to 4 Quota Groups only per question. And since this type of grouping is not the intended purpose of this feature, you'll want to set the Quota Values for each group high enough to accomodate the number of responses you would like to allow from each region.

I hope one of these options works for you.

Thanks for using Zoomerang!

Lila
