Default Frequency of surveys

Hi,

What's the ideal frequency of sending Zoomerang surveys? Has anyone done any testing to see if a certain frequency affects response rate?

I have a group of customers I survey when I need feedback. "When I need feedback" has been 2 weeks in a row, and has also been spaced by periods of over 6 months.

I started sending a quarterly survey to my customers. I get a slightly better response rate now than when I just send randomly every 4-6 months or so. My motivation was to better track the data on my satisfaction surveys. The bump in response rate was an added benefit.

Like you, I've wondered if sending survey more frequently would be beneficial. Would monthly be a better pace?

If the survey is web based often leaving a CTA around the site means that you can constantly offer a survey, given the right tone and limited questions people are usually willing to help.

I guess email is more interruptive and any more than 12 times a year could be considered intrusive.
